GM Vortec LFA 6.0 V8 engine

The GM LFA or Vortec 6000 Hybrid engine is a 6.0-liter V8 engine that General Motors produced from 2007 to 2013. This engine was developed specifically for hybrid versions of vehicles such as the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. A year after its launch, the engine received several important upgrades, including the installation of a phase control valve, AFM (Active Fuel Management) cylinder deactivation system and a new index – LZ1.

Application of the LFA engine

The GM LFA engine was designed specifically for hybrid vehicles, providing a significant improvement in fuel economy without sacrificing power.
