- Transmission timing chain problems. Prior to 2017, owners of vehicles with this engine often experienced rapid wear and stretching of the timing chain, but the design has been changed and this problem has been resolved.
- Instable idle speeds. Quite often on early versions of the engine there were problems with floating idle speed, which is associated with the failure of the fuel tank ventilation valve.
- Excessive oil consumption. After a mileage of 100,000 kilometers, the engine may begin to consume more oil due to wear of the oil caps.
