Car models with 4N16 engine

The Mitsubishi 4N16 engine is used in the following vehicles:

  • Nissan Caravan 6 (E26) – 2022 to present
  • Mitsubishi L200 6 (LC) – from 2023 to present

Disadvantages and possible problems of the Mitsubishi 4N16 engine

Since the Mitsubishi 4N16 engine is relatively new, there is still not much information about its breakdowns and typical faults. However, among the problems noted by owners can be distinguished:

  1. Piezo nozzle sensitivity. The new generation of piezo injectors can be sensitive to fuel quality, which requires high cleanliness of the diesel for correct operation of the injection system.
  2. Complicated exhaust system. In some modifications, the engine is equipped with a complex exhaust gas cleaning system, which can increase maintenance costs.
  3. AdBlue. Versions with urea injection system require the use of AdBlue solution, which can complicate operation in regions where this consumable is not always available.

The Mitsubishi 4N16 engine demonstrates good power and torque ratings, as well as high fuel economy, meeting EURO 6 environmental standards. These characteristics make it an attractive choice for pickup trucks and SUVs that require a reliable and durable powertrain.
