Troubleshooting and repairing the 2NZ-FE engine
Engine 2NZ-FE is an absolutely exact copy of the older 1NZ, with a crankshaft, whose stroke is reduced to 73.5 mm (was 84.7 mm), under the small crankshaft reduced and the cylinder block 2NZ, as well as changed the ball joints, so we got our 1.3 liter motor. Otherwise, these are the same motors, with the same problems: knocking, floating revs, whistles, falling apart oil pressure sensor, love for quality oil, general disposability, low engine life (+\- 200 thousand kilometers) and other joys.
Small series of NZ engines appeared in 1999 and was intended for small class cars, the NZ family included 1.5-liter 1NZ, 1.3-liter 2NZ. 2NZ. The NZ engines are similar to the larger ZZ engines in terms of their parameters: aluminum cylinder block, non-repairable, VVTi system on the intake camshaft, thin single-row chain with a pitch of 8 mm and so on. Since 2004, the 1NZ engines began to install hydrocompensators, on all previous motors if necessary to adjust the valve clearance should be once every 20 thousand kilometers, the adjustment is carried out by the method of selection of the tappet.
To buy such a motor or not? For Toyota Corolla is very weak, the car will not go, on Yaris and its similar, quite bearable.
